Field Trips

Field trips are held at various times during the school year. Any field trip is considered an extension of the classroom, and all students are expected to participate in a scheduled trip unless there are unusual circumstances and the student has received permission from the teacher not to attend. However, any student whose grade will be seriously jeopardized by missing another teacher's class might be denied permission to participate. Before taking a field trip, students will receive an academic permission form from the sponsoring teacher. These forms must be signed by each of the student's classroom teachers and returned to the Upper School Office before the trip.

Field trips are considered an excused absence; students are allowed and expected to make up all work missed while on the trip. Students will also receive a permission slip which must be signed by the parent or guardian and returned to the sponsoring teacher before the trip. Students should remember that when they are on a field trip of any kind, they are representing the entire EA community and should behave in a way which reflects the values and standards of that community.
